Odyssey of the Mind is a program that teaches and encourages divergent thinking and team problem-solving.
Information nights about OM are held in September, and teams form during the fall. These teams of 5-7 students meet after school or in the evening to work on creative solutions to problems, both short-term and longer ones for competition – but this cannot happen without parent support.
If you are interested in developing creativity in your child, consider volunteering for Odyssey of the Mind! No experience is necessary and training for new coaches is available. All you need for you and your child to benefit from OM is a willingness to help and the ability to meet once a week either after school or in the evening. Email Merritt Booster with any questions.

There are many resources on the internet for spontaneous problems (just google Spontaneous Problems).
