Each year, the Austin Creek Parent’s Club (ACPC) reviews and prioritizes our school goals. These goals determine where funds are allocated in the budget. The goals committee met in May 2010 and prioritized the following goals:

Science and Art Consultants

Funds for additional science and art instruction in the classroom. These programs include the Science Guy, Mr. Bradski, and Artist in the Classroom with Ane Carla Rovetta.

Field Trips

Funds provided for each of the grade level field trips. Some field trips include:

Classroom Enrichment Materials

Funds provided for academic supplements for each of the classrooms, such as Junior Great Book materials, math and language art supplies, classroom dictionaries, globes, maps, and art supplies.

Assemblies

Funds for grade level assemblies. Some of the assemblies that were funded last year included music, drama, dance, and authors’ presentations, nature/animal presentations for all grades and Lawrence Hall of Science presentations.

Lego Robotics

Provides funding to extend the Lego Robotics program to 6th graders.

Library Books

Student Empowerment Program

Supports Austin Creek’s Anti-Bully Program via the purchase of program materials and supplies to support efforts of the school counselor.

Mountain Math & Language

Electives

Playground & PE Equipment

Provides funding for balls, ropes, pumps, containers, miscellaneous toys and equipment, as well as special requests from teachers for recess and physical education.

Lunchtime Activities

Supplements intramural sports activities coordinated by Mr. Langley.>

Rincon Valley Education Foundation (RVEF)

Funds donated to the RVEF benefit all students in the Rincon Valley Union School District. The RVEF provides funding for vital programs in our school district such as music instruction and our science facilitator.

Academic & Athletic Team Support

Provides funding for services, clothing, and equipment for extra-curricular school teams.

Backpack Hooks

Provides funding for movable boards that contain backpack hooks that can be hung outside the classroom and are taken in at night.
